Concert Choir Tour!

Hello,

I just finished being on a choir tour of the Pacific Northwest for my college's Concert Choir. We performed concerts in SD, MT, ID, WA, BC, UT, CO, and KS. Best spring break ever. I took a lot of photos and hopefully will post some with time.

Glad to be back and the snow outside is finally melting. Yay Iowa!

Some public service announcements

I have become more involved in dA Groups, especially groups that support abstract art. Below is a list of excellent groups that I will probably write a news article about in the next month. I have contributed to this ever-growing groups, many of which have administrative support and would love for them to continue their excellent work.

Burst of Activity: 5K Views!

Wow! I realize that I haven't posted in a very long time. And I have 5000+ views! And now the Little Green Martian is back. I suppose I could create some hokey story about how I went on some deep space adventure, but I'll save that for my news stories (ex. Adventures in dA, vol. V [link] )

A few things to report!

I participated in KCACTF in KC (Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in Kansas City) with acting and such. The festival was held at JCCC (Johnson County Community College) and visited the Nerman Museum of Contemporary art on their campus. The have an excellent collection in a variety of media and I'd suggest it to anyone in Kansas City or the Midwest.

My college campus has been experiencing miserable weather, but we also had a beautiful hoarfrost, that strange phenomenon where moisture sublimates onto objects and makes everything so new and interesting. I spent nearly 45 minutes one night snapping pictures and doing some experiments (ex. Mix I, II, III, IV [link] [link] ) Hopefully, I'll keep posting those as I sort through them.

Adventures in the dA Universe: DD Comments

I, Marvin da Martian, have caught on to this dA universe’s little secret – mainly the triarchial daily deviation, comment, and faving cycle!

This practice is quite the phenomenon. Every day, several deviations become the talk of the universe, with thousands of comments following in the wake.

In scientific practice, I examined a slice of this hype and believe strongly that not only should the creator be praised, but also those who enjoy. As I like to say:

New Camera = Progress!

I finally have a camera of my own = Canon Powershot!

This means I'm back in the art submission business. I photographed the 12 completed 96 Crayon drawings and will post periodically.

Also dug through my folders, did some manipulation, and submitted some of that photography.
